DEADLINE DILEMMA ORDERING PATIO FURNITURE

Posted by: Denise McGaha

It's that time of year again...time to prep the patio and pool for outdoor entertaining.  Cleaning the cushions, repairing and planting the pots and landscape, and potentially ordering new furniture to replace old or even redesigning your outdoor living space.

A client recently called in a panic with this question:

"I just agreed to host an end-of-year party for my daughter's class of 35 children.  We will have food, lounging, swimming, and as you know...our furniture desperately needs to b e replaced.  Since we have only about 6 weeks to prepare, can you help us make this happen?"

So, here's what I did:

I called one of my outdoor furniture manufacturers to see what was in stock NOW.

I always purchase reputable outdoor furniture for my clients with at least a 15 year warranty.  Texas weather conditions can be brutal and salt water pools also test the best furniture after only a few years of exposure.

Next, we prepared outdoor furniture drawings with a suggestion for furniture placement.

Make sure you have room for dining, lounging, group seating and places to put drinks and plates if necessary.

Then we selected a color palette for cushions and drapery.

Last, but not least, we developed a full timeline showing the drop dead deadline for ordering, confirmed what we had designed was still available, and set our plan into motion.  The installation date is already on our calendar so we are prepared to have all hands on deck to prepare for our client's event.

Have you thought about what plans you have for outdoor entertaining this Spring?  I would love to hear what you are doing to plan ahead and meet your deadlines!
