Today I want to share the best way I have found to organize our projects in the design studio. And believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING!!! When I am designing, there is always a crazy frenzy in the design library of catalogs, fabric swatches, price lists, and swatches I have pulled. Whenever that door is closed, my staff steers clear! I am a bit crazy when I am designing and I am in the ZONE. But, what to do when I have reached a stopping point and I need to clean the design library and move to the next project of the day?

I would love to say I have a full 8 hours in any one day to focus on a single design project, but it just doesn't happen that way. So, in order to organize our space and work on several projects at a time, I have found these bins to be a life saver. I can pile all of the items for a project into them and my staff can also file memo samples that I have ordered when they arrive. I also keep all of our options in the bin until the project is completely finished. This helps when we have backordered or discontinued items that need to be re-selected.
I have a client label on the front so that they are easily identified. I can also load them in my car, so when I travel to the client's home, job site, or other design center, I have all the details at my fingertips. I can also take them home for weekend or after hours work.
Do you have a great organization tip that you use when you are working on projects? I would love to hear what works for you....digital or paper?
